ISC 22' | International Minds

Sunday February 27, 2022 marked the first International Student Conference. Due to unprecedented circumstances from Covid, the conference has been moved online. However, the original speaker and workshop plan carries seamlessly via ZOOM.


This year’s conference theme is The International Mind, emphasizing international students’ wellness and mental health.


Our keynote speaker is Dr. Josephine Kim, professor of human development and education at Harvard University, and an advocate and author regarding international students’ mental health.



Student-held workshops included Caught in a limbo – Assimilating without Forgetting, LGBTQ+ in International Cultures , The Passport – A New Interscholastic Publication for International Students at American Boarding Schools, Decentralizing America – Expanding Education to to International Perspective, Listen to Love – An International Examination of Love, and Mirror, Mirror, on the Wall – Finding Ourselves amidst the Cross-Cultural Beauty Standards.


Participating schools include Blair Academy, The Brooks School, The Chapel Hill – Chauncy Hall School, Emma Willard nSchool, Fay School, Groton School, Gould Academy,


The Governor's Academy, John Baptist Memorial High School, Kimball Union Academy, Miss Hall's School, Milton Academy, The Newman School, Phillips Academy Andover, Phillips Exeter Academy, Pomfret School, St. George's School, St. Mark's School, St. Paul's School, Tabor Academy, Thayer Academy, Thetford Academy


The student planning Committee is led by Judy Wang and Jana Choe from The Governor's Academy with the help of Jiayi Yu and Veronika Kitsul from St. Marks School and Mollet Otieno from Brooks School.
