Reflecting Across Borders: What does Identity Mean in the Twenty-First Century?
In the geopolitical sphere of nation-states comprised of racial, ethnic, and religious populations that formulate a coalition of citizens consisting of various economic, political, and social statuses, the question participants will be asked to explore actively is how transnational identities are redefining social constructs such as race, gender, marriage, and state belong? What role has capitalism had on inter-state friction and one's sense of belonging? This active and thought-provoking workshop will ask participants to share their stories while rethinking interpersonal dynamics and the meaning of home country and guest country.
